Exotic Animals in the United States may soon be invited to go the way of the busted illegal immigrant....deportation.
OK, so that's blowing it out of proportion but that's the gist of a bill (HR 669) that was recently introduced in the US House of Representatives.
The 'Nonnative Wildlife Invasion Prevention Act’ would give the Secretary of the Interior the authority to direct The United States Fish and Wildlife Service to establish a list of banned non-native wildlife.
Of course they would also have to establish a list of allowed non-native animals.
But to pet shop owners the bill is very broad, vague and potentially restrictive to their business.
